Joni Hannah Ranked #1 Nationally in Singles and Doubles

The United States Tennis Association recently announced that Joni Hannah, Westwood Country Club’s Director of Tennis, is now the number one ranked player in the nation for singles and part of the number one ranked doubles team in the Women’s 40s division. Despite playing a limited schedule, Joni was able to make the most of her opportunities this past year to take over the top spots in the national rankings for the first time in her career.

Highlights from the 2003 season included victories in singles and doubles in the USTA National Women’s 40s Indoor Championships held in Chicago and singles and doubles finalist in the USTA National Women’s 40 Grass Court Championships in Philadelphia. In addition, Joni was the undefeated playing captain of the victorious United States team in the Young Cup played in Gladbeck, Germany in September. The prestigious event, which is modeled on the well-known Davis Cup and Federation Cup events for touring professionals, is for national tennis teams of women age 40 and older representing countries across the globe.
